Person Centred
Counselling Services Training Partnership
October 30th 2007
An important
letter from Frances and Tracey
Dear
Friends of PCCS
After much consideration Frances and
Tracey have decided to pull out of counsellor training (BACP accredited
counsellor training programme).
Our decision is positive one as we
feel it is time after training counsellors for fifteen years for our
process to move on.
We have a passion for the
Person-centred Approach and that process will continue, the context
however is going to change. In our training years we have brought the
PCA to a wide community of people and feel we have made a difference by
being committed to providing a community learning experience. This will
continue but in a different format.
The politics of registration is going
to impact on the delivery of counsellor training and as most of you
will know PCCS has made the positive decision not to register with a
university as we do not agree with this process. Another impact was the
withdrawal of funding in 2006 for adult learners. Both these external
factors are outside our control and influential in us
coming to this decision.
As a result of withdrawing from
professional counsellor training we will be selling our house.
All the courses we are running this
year and next year will come to their natural end, our aim being to
wind up this phase of PCCS on 1st January 2009 with passion and
integrity.
So we would like to take this
opportunity to say make the most of PCCS in the house.
Warm regards
Frances and Tracey
