Charter
If
you are a potential applicant we will:
- Give you
information
about our
courses that is as accurate as we can possibly make it. Some minor
details
may change due to circumstances beyond our control, but we promise to
keep
you informed.
- Arrange for you to
see
either Frances or Tracey to talk about your training requirements,
career plans and
the suitability of our courses for your needs.
- Give you impartial
advice regarding
the best course for you.
- Provide you with a
copy of this
Training Charter.
If
you have applied for one of our courses we will:
- Treat your
application
fairly,
seriously and with respect regardless of your race, colour, religion,
age,
sexual orientation or class.
- Interview you if
you
require
an interview. (We don't routinely interview applicants for all
courses.)
*Provide you with information about PCCS.
- Keep all your
application details
confidential, including any information you provide requesting a
reduced-cost
place.
- Destroy our
records of
your
application(s) if you wish us to.
If you are a student
on a PCCS course we will:
- Provide you with a
copy of our
complaints and appeals procedure.
- Explain the
workings
of our
'Training Council' through which you can influence the way we run our
courses.
- Treat you and your
training
seriously and with respect.
- Provide you with
the
contact
hours indicated in the course publicity.
- Provide an
environment
in which
together with the tutors and other students, you can share in the
responsibility
of creating your own safe learning space.
- Provide high
quality
teaching
accommodation exclusively dedicated to your course.
- Mark your work
promptly and
give you fair and constructive feedback on it.
- Give regular
feedback
on your
progress on your course. In most cases this is built into the program.
- Provide access to
our
library
of books and training materials.
When
you leave us we will:
- On request,
provide
fair and
accurate reference for jobs or other education applications.
We
expect you to:
- Give an honest
account
of your
experience and qualifications at application.
- Commit yourself to
attending
at least 80% of the time on your course.
- Be prepared to
take
your training
commitment seriously.
- Hand your
work
in on time,
or negotiate extensions with your tutor.
- Not behave in
racist,
sexist
or otherwise oppressive ways.
- Not to smoke on
our
premises.
- Agree to abide by
the
few non-negotiated
rules that we have.
